Dana’s off to prepare some school stuff with a friend, and I’m home, doing some maintenance on her PC and my PC while getting ready to spend the day on the balcony with my new book(s). Weeee!

Got somewhat active in the BlogShares department lately. Bought some shares of The Conspiracy Letters, A New Cahoon (a baby journal, can you believe it), Reality Blurred (a reality TV weblog), gorgmorg and statt.geschichten (two nice german blogs) as well as The Aardvark Speaks (an austrian blog written in English). It’s amazing what kind of interesting blogs you can find when you just skim thru BlogShare‘s index. Diversity ^4.

Drag this bookmarklet to your links toolbar: BlogShares Look Up — when you feel the need to lookup a blog on BlogShares, just click the bookmark, and it’ll do it for you. Convenience rules. ;)

We just had a truly great breakfast/brunch. An old co-worker of mine, A, called me on my birthday. We hadn’t been in contact for about a year by that time, and we hadn’t seen eachother for roughly two+ years. I was totally surprised when I found his message on the machine, and I called him back almost instantly. Aware of the fact that (once again) we wouldn’t manage to meet if we don’t make an appointment right away, we settled a meeting for today — said breakfast/brunch.

He invited us over to his home, where we met him, his wife, and two of their friends. We shared some quite delightful hours talking about this and that, eating and laughing. Good times, good times. I think it’s the small things in life that are the most fun.

I still want an AIBO, tho.

I’m not quite sure why, but Zhaneel’s Blogshares just exploded.

Reverend – “a general purpose Bayesian classifier, named after Rev. Thomas Bayes. Use the Reverend to quickly add Bayesian smarts to your [Python] app”. Aye carumba!

If anyone knows of a class like this in PHP, let me know, please.

A friend of ours, J, just called. Apparently he moved 600 klicks north last week, away from Munich. Personal reasons, but we didn’t see it coming. Two weeks ago we talked on the phone, planning to get some serious gaming done one of the coming weekends, and today he called saying it won’t happen because he had to move and doesn’t live here anymore.

Sad day. Really.
