BetterSearch v1.21 Released #

August 17, 2008.

I’ve updated BetterSearch, my Firefox/Flock addon, to version 1.21. Here’s what’s new:

Compatible with Flock 2 beta+.
FIX: Action icons are back.
FIX: Delicious support unbroken! It’s glorious.
FIX: MSN/Live support works again.
FIX: Statusbar tooltip was showing the wrong version number. Silly thing.
FIX: Made some minor enhancements to Google URL normalisation.
FIX: Removed remnant code (”big icons” etc.).
CHG: Removed support for everything but Yahoo!, Google, MSN and Delicious. Sorry, don’t have the time anymore to keep track of anything else.

Go get the new version while it’s still hot! :)

Hello Carlo,
I use by now the FF 2.0.0.16 with Build 2008070205 and.
Today I made an update from 1.20 to the new version 1.21 and now I do not see anything about your fantastic add-on.
It is installed but in Google I see nothing about it. In yahoo and MSN is everything ok.
Deinstallation of the 1.21 and new install of 1.20 falls although in error in google website.
Deinstallation of 1.20 and new install of 1.21 get in error in google. Yahoo and MSN are ok.
I installed from FF Add-on site.

Can you help me where the fault is?

Servus. Norddeutschland, eh? Ich schreib einfach mal deutsch.

Es ist möglich, dass Du bei Google in einem sog. "bucket test" gelandet bist, in dem neue Features an Usern getestet werden. Welche Fehler bekommst Du denn genau? Und kannst Du mir eine der Google-URLs geben, damit ich selbst mal draufschauen kann?

vielen Dank für Deine Antwort.

Gerade eben z.B. die URL: http://www.google.de/search?num=100&hl=de&lr=la...

Weil ich grad nen Mailclient für IMAP brauche..
Ist aber egal wonach ich suche, auch bei völlig versch. Themenbereichen bekomme ich kein bettersearch angezeigt.

Eine Fehlermeldung oder anderes sichtbares kommt gar nicht, nur eben keine Anzeige von bettersearch, so als wenn es nicht installiert wäre.
Ich bin zwar mit meinem google-Konto eingeloggt, aber keine google-toolbar installiert falls das wichtig sein sollte. Ach so, grad mal ausgeloggt, ich seh dann trotzdem nix von bettersearch beim suchen in google...

Hilft Dir irgendein Log-file oder sonst. Files?

Versuchskaninchen sein, finde ich nicht so nett..

Danke, die URL hilft -- da kommt bei mir auch nix. Ich schaus mir übers Wochenende an und fix den Fehler.

Sieht so aus, als hätte Google die HTML-Struktur der Suchergebnisseiten geändert, und BetterSearch weiss nicht mehr, wo es die Thumbnails etc. hintun soll. Super, warum machen sie sowas immer eine Woche, *nachdem* ich eine neue Version rausgebracht habe? ;)

Super, dass ich Dir helfen konnte, wenn das auch bestimmt richtig Arbeit bedeutet.
BetterSearch ist doch eines der Wichtigsten und Bekanntesten Add-on's, da könnte von Google ja auch mal ein bisschen Mithilfe kommen.
